Bellagio is undoubtedly the most famous resort on the lake – justly called the “Pearl of the Lake.” It is situated on the tip of the promontory dividing the lake into the two branches of Como and Lecco. Thanks to this particular location there is an extraordinary variety of panoramas with views ranging across the lake in every direction. Bellagio is also famous for the wonderful villas, with their parks and beautiful gardens in Italian or English style.
After lunch on your own and free time to explore this charming village, you'll be taken to Cadenabbia and then Como for the concluding part of your day outing.
The neo-classical Villa Olmo is an imposing building on the lake shore. Once the summer residence of the aristocratic marquis Odeschalchi, it is nowadays owned by the city of Como and open to visitors who enjoy the changing exhibitions and picturesque walks through its gardens.
Como is a city easy to explore on foot. The historic center, between the old medieval walls is full of delightful corners, monuments, and shops. The textile industry, and silk in particular led Como to national and international reputation. Today Como is a dynamic business city while preserving its old-world charm and character.
